The English Language

Even if it were the language of the Kufaar, you still might need it one of those days, and I wish I could speak this language for I have found great benefit in it for the dawah to Allah. A man comes to enter Islam and you wouldn’t know how to speak to him…
This is why the Prophet, salah allahu ‘alayhi wa salam, ordered Zaid bin Thaabit to learn the Gibberish language, which is the language of the Jews…
Imagine you are in a society that does not know except the English language, whether it is an English or non-English society, then how would you call to Allah? Can you call others with sign language? Even if you did, you wouldn’t be able to call him through gestures, so those who say that English is the language of the Kufaar, and that it is impermissible to learn it…is not true.

Being remembered!

Reported in Bukhari, the Prophet, salah allahu ‘alayhi wa salam, said to Ubay bin Ka’ab, ”Allah has ordered me to recite to you: ‘Lam yakum Al-Latheen Kafaru min Ahlal el Kitab’ (surat al bayinah)” So ‘Ubay replied, ‘Did Allah mention me by my name?’. The Prophet, salah allahu ‘alayhi wa salam, replied, ‘Yes’. Ubay began to cry!
Allahu Akbar! How beautiful is that?! A man being remembered by his name with Allah, and not only that, but ordered His Messenger to read to him! What an honor…but who is this man? He’s an ummah by himself when it came to the Quran. It’s Ubay bin Ka’ab Al-Ansari…
He stood out between ALL the sahabah for his knowledge and recitation of the Qur’an. Anas bin malik said that he is one of four who collected and memorized the Qur’an during the time of our Prophet, salah allahu ‘alayhi wa salam, and even more, he was labelled ‘araqra’u el ummah’ or the one with the most understanding of the Quran amongst our whole ummah. What a virtue, Subhanna Allah, and his love for the Prophet and the Quran was one that was worthy of being remembered…by Allah!
Don’t you yearn of being remembered? If Allah remembers you, He’ll call your name in the skies and have the angels love you too…
Just Imagine a slave still walking upon this earth, and all the while, he is being remembered…
